Golf Business News – GMS to promote new Kent links event to US audiences

The Hagen 54, a new 54-hole golf tournament to be held at Prince’s Golf Club, Royal Cinque Ports and Royal St Georges in Kent, England from July 23-24, have announced a partnership that will see global golf marketing agency GMS provide comprehensive public relations support to the event, enhancing brand awareness and market presence across North America.

In the Hagen 54’s inaugural year, it will be vital to reach the North American golf traveller in order to sustain a successful event for years to come. GMS, which opened new offices in both North America and the UAE in January, has the opportunity to not only showcase the unique two-day event, but why the south-east coast of England is one of the finest golf destinations in the world.

“We are encouraged to tap into the resources of GMS on a global scale for the Hagen 54,” says Colin Sinclair, Secretary of Royal St George’s. “This is an exciting year for each of the three clubs that lie within just 10 minutes of each other on the Kent coast, and our event in July will highlight why this area of the United Kingdom is so special.”

The Hagen 54 honours the legacy Walter Hagen and Jim Barnes set in 1920 as they completed a custom routing of the three Open Championship venues in a single day. Players will have the privilege to play the same routing as Hagen and Barnes did for an unforgettable experience on some of the best layouts in the world.

The itinerary begins with an optional round of golf at either Prince’s or Royal Cinque Ports on Wednesday, July 23, followed by a welcome reception and BBQ at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club. On Thursday, July 24, the main event begins with a shotgun start at dawn and includes on-course catering, caddies available on request, and a post-golf supper to celebrate the day’s achievements.

Golfers participating in The Hagen 54 will enjoy not only world-class golf on these three links courses but also the camaraderie and challenge of completing this iconic route with friends and family. Prince’s Golf Club will welcome participants and be grateful for their key role in delivering a truly memorable experience.

“To have an unprecedented event like this where golfers will play three Open venues in the same day could only be dreamt of for many,“ continues Sinclair. “It is now paramount that we make sure all golfers know about this special opportunity to travel to the southeast of England and experience this world-class offering for themselves.”

For groups traveling from outside of the UK, The Hagen 54 is easily accessible from Gatwick and Heathrow airports. The former is roughly one hour and 45 minutes by car and the latter is two hours and 30 minutes. Golfers can also use public transport from Heathrow via Charing Cross or St Pancras train stations from central London.
