The PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation has named Kess Romano to its board of directors. His term begins July 1. He will assume roles on the planned giving and investment committees.

Romano was raised on the east side of Clark County, later attending George Fox University, where he played baseball and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

In 2003, Kess founded Romano Financial with his father; in 2008, he established Romano Capital to focus on real estate development and investments in and around Clark County. Romano Capital prioritizes local engagement and expertise, directing investments toward the community.

After a national search, Vancouver City Manager Lon Pluckhahn has extended an offer to Jeff Towery to fill the city’s vacant deputy city manager position.

This role is one of two deputy city manager positions and oversees departments including Economic Prosperity and Housing; Community Development; Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services; Public Works; and the Policy and Program Management Division of the city manager’s office.

Towery is currently the city manager for McMinnville, Ore., a position he has held since 2017.
