The rejection of Nico Williams for the second summer in a row has left Barcelona looking at alternative options to strengthen their left flank.
Liverpool ace Luis Diaz and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford are seen as the most viable alternatives at this point by the La Liga champions.
A move for Diaz, however, could be a costly affair, and Liverpool are not entirely keen on offloading the Colombian winger, making negotiations tricky.
The 27-year-old forward is out of favour at Old Trafford. As reported on Friday, he has been granted permission not to start pre-season with the rest of the team and given time until late in July to find a solution for his future.

Capitalising on that, Barcelona plan on holding discussions with the Red Devils over a move for Rashford, who is intent on signing for the Blaugrana and sees it as his dream move.
The 27-year-old was on Barcelona’s radar in January, but Ansu Fati’s refusal to leave meant that there was no room for his arrival.
Having spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa, he is hoping to get his big switch to Catalonia now.
So, there will be some issues to iron out between the two parties. Rashford, for his part, is prepared to make all efforts necessary to make the move happen.
