Libéma Open Best Bets Including Mertens vs Alexandrova

It’s now time for the semifinals of the Libéma Open, and neither of these matches is going to be easy to win. Here are the best bets for the semifinals. Let me know in the comments if you agree. If you disagree, but sure to tell me why.

French Open

Ruse – Cocciaretto: Time 12:30

H2H: 0-0

Elena-Gabriela Ruse vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto is the appetizer of the semifinals, but they provide an interesting storyline all their own. Cocciaretto enters as the surprise of the semifinals. At 6-4 in her last ten, it’s largely been this tournament where she’s found her form. Ruse is an impressive 8-2 in her last ten matches, with this being her first semifinal since Rouen. She’s had many solid runs in 2025, they just happen to be largely coming out of qualifying, largely leaving the superficial impression that she crashed out early in many tournaments after only a match or two.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Cocciaretto as the underdog, and it’s not hard to see why. Ruse has had a phenomenal 2025 at 22-9 overall. She’s a perfect 5-0 on grass in 2025, and she’s 25-14 overall. Cocciaretto is 3-0 on grass, but she’s only 9-4 overall. Ruse seems to be in a better place right now, but bettors will know I’ve always liked Cocciaretto as a talent. While there’s a temptation to take her at 2.43, the smart money is on Ruse to reach the finals. Her play in 2025 has been such that making a final was likely always in the cards.

That being said,  Ruse winning is a value bet for sure.

Mertens – Alexandrova: Time 11:00

H2H: 2-3

Elise Mertens vs Ekaterina Alexandrova is going to be the premier match of the semifinals. Both ladies are inside the top 25 and have a rivalry going back to 2017. Not only did Alexandrova win their only meeting here at Hertogenbosch in 2019, but she also won their most recent match in February at Doha. Mertens is 6-4 in her last ten while Alexandrova is a robust 8-2. Then there’s the little matter of Alexandrova boasting an incredible 41-19 on grass throughout her career, and Mertens is a more modest 37-31. This match seems geared towards Alexandrova prevailing.

Best Bet to Make

Since there are only two matches on offer, I’m going to throw out two bets for the same match. The first one I’ll suggest is running with Alexandrova straight up. As stated, she’s much better on grass in general. Her current form is very dialed in and ready for a match of this caliber. You can take her straight for nearly 1.7, and it might even get more value as the match draws closer.

The second bet I want to suggest is taking Alexandrova in straight sets on the correct score. Two different sites are offering 2.5 for Alexandrova at 2:0, and that’s a tremendous line for a bet with this many upsides. Before you get tempted by 2:1 for Alexandrova, realize that the books think this is a pretty good longshot, and have much more faith in her winning in straight sets. Either way, Alexandrova has more than enough to win this entire tournament, and tomorrow is her first chance to do that.

That being said, Alexandrova winning is a value bet for sure.
