Report: Galatasaray wants Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané to skip Club World Cup

Galatasaray is close to wrapping up a deal for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané and the Turkish side could even be pushing to get the Germany international early.

In fact, Sport Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia) is reporting that Galatasaray would like Sané to stay home on Thursday and not travel to the United States with the rest of Bayern Munich’s international players for the Club World Cup:

Galatasaray are doing everything they can to prevent Leroy Sané from travelling to the USA for the Club World Cup. Sané’s Bayern contract is still valid until the end of the month.

Bayern Munich has ample options that it can use at wing to cover for Sané, so coverage should not be an issue. It might all just come down to how quickly the Bavarians want to turn the page.

Looking for more thoughts and reactions to Leroy Sané’s stunning decision to turn down a contract proposal from Bayern Munich in favor of a fresh start (and more money) from Galatasaray.
